Re: Crazy Snare Build Fun

Hi guys, been awhile since I was here. The S.S.#1 cocktail drum worked very well for our application. A major issue that did arise was when the kick on the underside was played. I used this shell mostly as visual, only the snare side was played however when played as a kick and snare there was much ...

Crazy Snare Build Fun

I haven't been here in a long time, let's just say I've been busy hammering away live on cocktail kits. After fighting with snare mechanisms and easy fix snare ideas I finally broke down and modified my custom cocktail kit. I added an internal snare shell inside the main body of the Kick/Snare drum....

Hi Tele, to answer some of your questions. You can sit down on any cocktail kit, it doesn't make it any less cool. If you stand you might find that your knees, thighs, heels and hip hurt after a long night, but once you condition it's not too bad. I find sitting down on a regular kit gives me great ...

I highly doubt you'll find a kit that works right out of the box no matter what price your gonna pay that is gig ready for the sound your gonna look for. I also suggest checking the search links as there has been extensive talk about cheap kits and build quality. Really spend the $30.00 on 2 skins f...

What do you do for fun?

Well it's been a little sleepy here for awhile which means you're either too busy playing or too busy playing. So just for sh$ts and giggles what do you people do for hobbies other than playing a killer cocktail kit? Myself I'm a big fan of motorcycling. Sprint St 1050, Ninja 650, Roadstar 1700, KX ...

I think you'd be reaching to get any sort of low sub or even good solid kick type punch from a 12". That being said I've never tried so can't speak for sure. I've tuned drums down pretty low and gotten good results with small toms but I personally would pass on a 12". It may work for your ...

Is there any way to retro fit this with other cables? (Pearl, Gibraltor, Tama, Bicycle line) Take a few pictures maybe we can up with an idea to help out. Farm supply stores often have Aircraft cable that can be cut to fit. UFA stores if you're around Canada.

If you can't find a chain you could get a piece of leather and make a longer strap. You'll find it may have a bit of give but it'll work.
