For my last gig, I actually used the cajon as the throne for my Slingerland Expresso kit. I would play it for acoustic songs, and the Expresso for the electric ones. I got a lot of interested stares and questions from the people at the party.

Thanks for the tip. I was messing around with mics yesterday and the bass drum mic works great. I can't wait to get it out to play live.

I play the Expresso and have no problems with the snares vibrating. The factory snare that came with the set is pretty good.

I've been playing my expresso kit for almost three years now. I love it! When miced up, it can push a four piece blues rock band with no problem. It's also great to show up with a drum kit packed in a plastic milk crate and a large Rubbermaid container. While I wouldn't call it a true cocktail kit, ...
