I agree they were "Rich"...I got mine on E-bay for around $800. you could get a pretty good starter (Full) drum set for the $1200 they wanted. That being said Yamaha did not scrimp on quality. Anything with Yamaha 's name on it is for the most part top quality. I've paid for mine giging it...

Club Jordan Cocktail sets discontinued?

Hi all
Hope you all had a great Holiday.
I was "googling" yamaha club jordans' and it appears to be that they are no longer available. Yamaha must have discontinued their production.
Anyone have the scoop on this.
I own one and their great sets but a little pricy.

Peace

Hi Heyden On a traditional bass drum you vent the resonate head. On a Cocktail you play both heads ...So venting probably is not an option. I found a great deal of sound can be increased by making sure your beater is striking head directly. you may have to lower main drum to achieve this. The "...

Hi Mutiperc In my opinion they are excellant . They really rip...and their small and can be tucked in an open slot. Of course they are a bit heavy and need a post of their own or a heavy duty muti-post. I've never hung mine off the cocktail drum but have used them with my percussion rack when I play...

Hayden I'm a vintage drum Freak...and I would never drill a shell or alter it. I don't consider my club Jordan a vintage set and therefore didn't have any quams about improving my tunability. All of the best sets(vintage) had factory installed internal muffles. The Newer gears rarely has it. Gretsch...

Hi Hayden No I didn't alter my Club Jordan. I have a wood block that my girl freind gave me that has the groves in it. It mounts above my cow-bell. The Grooves aren't as tight a pattern as I would like but it does function as a wood-block and a scratch block. Sounds best with blast sticks (Hot Rods)...

I'm using Fiberskyn(sp)On top a G2 on bottom. I did drill my club Jordan and installed (2) top and bottom Gretsch vintage muffles. My Tom is Fiberskyn top and bottom and I gave up on 8 snare and am using a 80"s DW 10 Maple snare. It takes more room but isolating snare really helps on reducing &...

Hi I'm new here but have been a cocktail/Percussionist(Congas)/Kit drummer for over 40yrs.. I might sugjest if you ran that part of drum shell through a table saw set very shallow and then moved the fence 1/4 inch and repeated you'd end up with both a sound board and a scratch board(Like the hand he...
