I realize you've solved the problem, but you can use a piece of bicycle chain or motorcycle chain if you can't get a second chain to lengthen the original. You might also be able bend the rod on the beater to get more swing.

Re: Case on Ebay - 8/23

Unfortunately, they don't want to ship that case. Too expensive because of it's size. I checked UPS and it's about $400! So if anyone is in Indiana you can go by and pick it up.

Pipes

I've seen them both ways, but don't know about large diameter pipes (until now) so you are correct. That would be a problem. You might be able to use a 13" or do something like Whitney drums... but it would probably be a lot of trouble.

slightly off-topic, but 12" pipes would make good drum shells too. Anyone tried that?

I made some years ago that are still holding up fine. I used 1/8" maple dowels I got at home depot. I sprayed them with clear poly then bundled them up using shrink wrap. I put a small cap on the butt end and some o-rings from plumbing to adjust the sound. You can use bamboo skewers too. Bamboo...

I've had a couple of emails back and forth with Rick of Drumrolls. I gave him some dimensions that we would need and the closest he can come is a 20" (diameter) by 30" (length, head to head) bass drum case. I haven't gotten a price yet but I'm going to get one of these for my big drum. Tho...

Nice looking product, but the shopping cart isn't working and a lot of the site is broken. I went to ebay to check on the sale and found only one bag. I'm interested in a large size for the main drum. Need to know the prices.

I received the cymbal last week. It looks pretty cool and different. Best of all it sounds great in either mode. It was a good buy. I got it for $50 plus shipping. Now I want some matching hi hats.

With apologies to everyone who loved him. (I'm sure he's laughing now) A horn player who had been playing with Buddy Rich for many years came back from vacation to hear a rumor that Buddy had died. He didn't quite believe it, so he phoned Buddy's wife and said "Can I speak to Buddy please?"...

How can you tell if the stage is level?

The drummer is drooling from both sides of his mouth.

Very true! Also do that while your band is playing. That would give you a good idea about the whole set. You just have to find another drummer to help you out.

Vader Rainbow Crash/Ride

I just bought one on eBay. It's red. Even if it doesn't sound great it looks really cool! I haven't received it yet. Has anyone used one?
