What I would have loved to been able to figure out is how to make this sort of a direct drive pedal. I tried to think of a way I could have replaced the rope with a metal arm or something, but having no mechanical skill, I couldn't think of anything lol

Murph I still have the pedal if you're interested. No one has come forward to officially buy it.

might be interested if it's cheap enough. I was thinking along the lines of $150 + $10 shipping. Again if the rounded screws are an issue I can get an extractor to try and remove them and then replace them, but as they're the screws for the footplate and heelplate they still hold strong (too strong...

We don't NEED no stinking cases!

Nice though you know it's illegal to have an open cocktail while operating a motor vehicle? :)

I have to agree on the Performance II. Mine just came in today. It has more attack and punch than the setup I mentioned above. I actually took some weather stripping off the top head and threw in some cotton balls and I think it's near perfect now.

Whitney Sidekick Penguin - Detailed Pics + Audio!

I've upload a bunch of pictures to the gallery and I'm going to see if John can use all this stuff to make a page for Whitney Drums in the Models section. This is not really just a "hey look at my new set" thread, but really a more in-depth look at these drums, how they're constructed, and...

I may have one Murph that I think I 98% will be selling. I got one with my Whitney just a few days ago but miss the direct feel of a regular reversed pedal. It works just fine, nice and smooth. However, the 3 screws that hold the heel plate to the pedal plate are rounded out and damaged from trying ...

DW5000 Conversion - Play in the axle?

I've got a slight problem after converting my DW 5000 (newer model). The axle seems to have a tiny bit of play, meaning it can slide a bit from left to right. I have a feeling that the bushing on the left side of the pedal isn' t in all the way, but it fits really tight and after greasing it and try...

I'm new to the cocktail drum world, but I already have learned first hand that drumhead choice is going to be a personal thing and it will take some experimenting. I just got my Whitney Drums Sidekick Penguin (its own thread soon!) the other day and it came outfitted with an Aquarian Force II on the...

LP has samples on their site. Sounds pretty interesting.

$99 is a good price too for something small and unique to add.

My old Cocktail inspired setup

I'm new to this whole world so I don't know how much this setup counts as a possible cocktail kit, but I think if you stood up it could be. Cocktail kits used to also have horizontal bass drums yes? Cocktail setups were my inspiration anyhow for this one. This is a custom kit I had made by Dover Dru...

Was Zorf trying to post a picture and it's just not showing up for me? I don't see anything in the two replies he made. Strange.

DW SideKick Pedal Pictures? / Introduce Myself

Finally! My account is activated :-) I'm new to the cocktail drum world, not even owning a set yet. At the moment JT Whitney is making me a Mahogany stained SideKick Penguin (14x16, 7x10, 5x12) that I suspect should be done at the end of July. I'm having the "KickTom" made with floor tom l...
