Re: 16x16 kick tuning
I've owned a lot of 16" bassdrum kits from the Sonor Jungle, the Yamaha Rick Marotta as well as the Gretsch Catalina club kit. I currently have a converted 16X16 Ludwig floor tom from 1968. That is the one which is probably closest to what you are using. My suggestion would be this. Remove the ...

Re: The current Trixon cocktail kits
As promised, here is a recording I made tonight... I used an AKG-C1000S into Garageband and recorded the movie with a Canon Vixia HRF-20 HD camcorder... The sound you are hearing came through a really decent mic, not the on board audio from the camera. This is one of the tunes in the Jon Riley Art o...

Re: The current Trixon cocktail kits
Okay, I found some used evans g1's in my closet and put them on the snare and tom. I definitely need to figure something out with the snare. It does not sound good. I might order some different hoops. I suspect the inability to stay in tune comes from the fact that they are so flimsy. Luckily I can ...

Re: What can you tell me about this kit in the gallery?
I'm guessing here, but i think the cocktail drum is probably 14 - 15" X 18 - 20" something like that. The snare is probably a 12 or 13" X 5. The arm used to mount it is definitely a piece of hardware you could buy for mounting cymbals, but with a snare bsket stuck on it. I'd be dubiou...

Re: The current Trixon cocktail kits
I just got mine from Jim Laab. I ordered on the phone. Eric (in the guitar dept.) helped me. I asked what was in stock and what his opinions were of the finishes. He let me know that they were out of stock on the cymbals and gave me a $20 credit on the kit (their cost for the cymbal packs). It arriv...

Yamaha Club Jordan in Mint Condition for sale!
This kit is in perfect condition. Never gigged with it, and only had it for 3 months. Includes snare, tom, retro-fitted double pedal, and all hardware. Asking $900, but am willing to negotiate.... I can also provide pictures.
