A good trick is to use TrimGard's Door Edge Guard, available in car equipment stores.
You'll need not more than 1/4 inch to make your ride sound more "dry". It's also autoadhesive so it'll stay a few gigs.

It works!

The cascara shell has additionary holes to fit on 14"/15"/16" drums. The attachment bracket are L shaped. I've drilled two more holes to raise the plate over, then having the possibility to use it for rim shots "? la" rhythm wedge, giving up more versatility. Easy to do and ...

I'm using this snare drum for now, but I'll look for something else sooner or later. I think that a 10" snare and a 8" tom would have been a more clever choice from Yamaha. That was the configuration of the Ayotte kit on auction recently and with a 16" main drum, that cocktail kit mus...

Watch the rotation of the thumb side mallet when the sticks are crossed at 45 degrees. Playi...

I have a coated pinstripe tuned fairly low. No muffling needed for me, but I like a lively sound.

I keep the tuning pretty low, so the small drums don't get too thinny.
Don't expect to have a great punchy snare sound on the 15" drum... It's more like an effect than anything else! It will buzz also when playing with the foot, which can be interesting in some cases.

In Canada, wating time for a Club Jordan is between 3 and 4 months...
Plenty of time to build one by yourself.
I was lucky enough to find a decent used one in store. Beside that, no matter how long you'll wait, the club Jordan is a great set!
