Four Freshman Video

Wow a video of the wierd kit!

Is there any way that I could get hold of that? I would love to add a short clip to the media section of the board! VHS or digital is even better. Would just want a short piece. Is this a video I can find somewhere?

Thanks for the help

Who Played These Things?

Hey Willy, Good questions! I have heard various stories from people about seeing cocktail drums in the 50s and 60s but sadly there are barely any pictures or written accounts. It seems that cocktail drums were very popular for the following: 1) Having the singer play drum parts in an otherwise drumm...

It is probably a Vespe

hey Zacker, I believe that the drum is a Vespe. I don't have the info in front of me but I believe that Vespes were built in Camden, NJ. So my guess is at some point the company switched names but kept the product line. I believe the picture you mean is this one: http://www.cocktaildrum.com/slidesho...

RIMS Mount Update

Hi Willy, I just got my parts and tried out the RIMS system for mounting around the top edge and it works really well. Just to recap, I added the rims mount to the top head and put extra rubber bushings (cymbal rod protectors) under the last lugs of the RIMS mount. This keeps the RIMS moutn from see...

Tom Mount

Hey Willy, I totally understand your dilema! I am constantlt trying to figure out the best way to add more pieces without drilling (my drum is vintage and has no mounts attached at all!) and getting them in just the right spot. I have a couple of ideas for you that are nothing new but just thoughts:...

Odery

Yeah Dinkus, I'm with you on the pedal bracket. It looks amazing! Perhaps a bit bulky for my 'compact' sensibility but very sturdy and adjustable. I also love the little dual percussion stand! Am I the only guy that's trying to mount as much percussion on the rim of a cocktail drum as possible? I'm ...

Hey Kids, A last minute announcement! You can see me play cocktail kit tonight (Thursday Night/Friday AM) with Melissa Errico at around 12:37 am on the Pat McEnroe coverage of the US Open. I usually play full kit on this gig but the studio is so small that they asked me to play cocktail! So if you s...
