Monster Tiki Rocktail Kit

After about 2 months of reading, scheming and planning, the pieces have come together for a kit I'll be playing with The Straight 8s, a 3-piece rock-a-billy band based near Chapel Hill, NC. The Straight 8s play high-energy, traditional rock-a-billy, with elements of surf and swing. Their departing d...

I just got done schlepping a full kit in and out of a gig with stairs, a tight corridor, and pathway through a crowded bar that's about 2' wide (the path, not the bar... it's 4' wide). LOL This thread (and pic) made my night. "Open cocktail" indeed. LOL

The sidekick does look a little Rube Goldberg-esque, but seems to offer some cocktail drum placement flexibility. I have been experimenting with my trad kit setup cocktail style, and ...

Thanks John and Unc for replying... I really appreciate the insight. I'm still fooling around with drum heights that work while playing. Right now I'm experimenting with a conventional kit while standing, and I realize how important the bass pedal feel/response/rebound/tension is going to impact pla...

Max height of bottom head with "typical" pedal set

Greetings, Long time lurker, first time posting. :-) I've searched the forum quite a bit, and still hoping to get some additional info. My question is in regards to the typical maximum height that can be achieved for the bottom head (relative to the floor), using the more common Pulse, Ludwig, etc. ...
