Man, John, those that are shown on the regular bass drum are super cool. May have to pic a set of those babies up. Multiperc, you migh want to use one of the RIMS floor tom mounts. You could use floor tom legs for Cocktail set up or fold out spurs, i.e. old Ludwig style for traditional set up. Mango...

Those TOCA timbales are so cool and now the snare ones too. I've always wanted some, but just wouldn't turn loose of the bucks.

Bass drum sound of a cocktail drum won't be that much different than a hipgig bass drum, and the looks of a Cocktail Kit will more than make up for any difference in sound. Cocktail Kits are cool and that's the bottom line.

Are the wooden timbales new, old, out of production, or are they still available?

They do look cool. Would work great on a Cocktail Kit as added sound. Doubt that it would work as main snare, but, hey, stranger things have been used.

What are those drums on the far left of the picture? Man if you would lose the bass drum and replace it with a djembe on a DW cradle, you would have a "KILLER" Set.

You can check out the aluminum RIMS mounts, they don't weigh much or one of the Gibralter claws for mounting your snare.

John," jmettam", put a RIM on his main drum and mounts stuff off it via claws, and this guy has a lot of stuff on his kit. Check out the pics of it.
