Yeah, sorry about the pop up windows folks. It's part of EZ-board and you have to pay to get rid of them and I'm not prepared to do that right now. I am looking into moving the message board to the server but that's a whole other level of complication! Anyway, my apologies and thanks to everyone who...

Hey Randy,

The Yamaha Club Jordan is a fine instrument. As a matter of fact, I believe it is largely responsible for the recent popularity of the instrument. As far as I know it was the first production cocktail drum from a major compnany since the early 70's. The design was updated to add ...

Well, I have to admit that I have a chronic problem. I always switch sticks around even when playing full kit. I switch alot in the middle of tunes too! On the cocktail I use brushes, blasticks, hot rods, and the amazing 'diamond tip' plastic tip 8As. I normally don't use plastic tips or such small ...

Hey Keith,

I usually use 2 or 3 mics depending on the size of the space and what the sound system has available. Close micing the kick works well with my drum because I have the bottom head tuned low and well muffled. It could be too ringy if you leave the head more open. If I have only 2 m...

Ok, you caught me with THAT comment! I HAVE a set of North Drums! I guess I just love wierd drum kits. Norths ARE a dead spot. Made of thick fiberglass with no resonance at all. But they have that wonderful 'DISCO' sound. Built in dead and crazy projection from the curved shell! I've always wanted t...

I haven't tested the site with all of the older ver...

Here is a basic single headed Slingerland cocktail.
My guess is it's from the 50's.
White paint in fair condition. Would look great with a rewrap.
Snares and muffler there and working!

Ok, people. Fess Up!

I think that a couple of you out there have bought this kit by now. Please, tell us all about it!

It is certainly the most affordable NEW full range kit out there. I have several reservations about the quality of the shells AND the hardware from the last time I...
