Re: Switching legs

I do switch feet on the pedal sometimes, but I've also learned a technique that seems to help. Some songs require a bit more "kick" so for those, I stand fully on my left foot, rocking between the ball and heel, and essentially stomp the pedal w/ mt right. On softer songs or those requirin...

End of an era (not really)

After 7 months of playing (as a temporary drummer) with a local band, I finally told them I'm done. They were supposed to be looking for a perm. drummer the whole time I was playing. They weren't. No one else had a full time job like I do. I was never really interested in working 7 days a week! I'm ...

Re: Rim Click Ideas

That is just one more reason I decided to go with a full size snare. We play a few ballads, and the little drum just "couldn't" This, however, would do the trick for you: http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/1126351/world-percussion-hardware They are also available from LP, Rhythm Tech, ...

Thanks SRT80! That's just a Pearl BT-3 tom mount. It's holding a 7/8" dia. Sound Percussion mini cymbal boom. Here's a closer look:

Here are some better pics, from a different show; my high school alumni/homecoming event. http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh93/f_klock/298372_10150364955939201_714624200_7739186_1978421523_n.jpg http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh93/f_klock/298327_10150364951424201_714624200_7739153_1407804577_...

Re: Aquarian Head Question...

Well, sometimes you should leave well enough alone. I set up the perf II when it came today, played it for about 30 minutes, and put the Coated pinstripe right back on, to stay. Too much attack, and not enough warmth with the Aquarian head.

Re: Larger port for the main drum?

Played the "Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Festival" this weekend. Outdoors of course. Sound man at the venue mic'd my main drum, through the port cut in the side, with a standard mic. Not sure what brand/model, but with a little experimentation it sounded amazing. Since my tom side is tuned low ...

Re: Aquarian Head Question...

At this point I'm open to all options. Thanks for the insight. I'll take it into consideration. I did order a Perf. II to try, but I still have many other options. I never get rid of older heads, so I'm sure I'll find the right combination with something I've got.

Aquarian Head Question...

How does the Performance II w/o the dot compare to the one WITH the "Power Dot?" Thinking of placing this on the kick side of my 15X24, but not sure which would work best for this application. Coated pinstripe on top.

Re: The current Trixon cocktail kits

My Trixon made it's stage debut this weekend. It did well, but there were a few modifications needed before-hand, and some happened afterward. Mount from original snare (not using that drum at all) placed on full size snare to mount an SP aux. hi hat bracket. Way more adjustability than the factory ...

Re: Trixon Gig Debut 10/8/11

We do a couple of Stones songs, and a cool version of "Me and Julio" with congas and bongos. The percussion stand on the drummers left of the kit holds a small bar chime, wood block, vibraslap, tambo, and cowbell. I know what you're thinking, "That should all be mounted on the kit!&qu...

Trixon Gigs

Not the best photos, but I will report that, with minor adjustments and changes to be made before the next gig, (The large cymbal z-arm has got to go) this kit performed pretty well. I'm loving my Dream cymbals too! http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh93/f_klock/th_316228_2480114918292_1115121136_3...
