Hey Multiperc,I have 3 of the Paiste accent cymbals {I think in 2',4' and 8'}.I am curious as to how the 2 eight inch cymbals sound together as hats.Do they have the long sustain when they are open? I am trying to get an idea with mine, but the difference in sizes just doesnt seem to work, anyway just...

Cool, thanks for the info on the hats...I just wanted to know if someone had them or something in that size(10 or 12inch}...and what the quality was like.I wanna check em out soon.I'm sure they may work for low volume stuff.

Speaking of hi hats,Guitar Center has 10" mini hats{zht} on sale for $120...I'm not to sure how they sound. But they look cool and would probably serve the cocktail kit really well.Anyone else thats may have suggestions on playing your hats open and with your hand,or any other methods...keep it ...

cymbals for cocktail kit
The Giant Beat cymbals from Paiste would work great in low to medium or acoustic volume settings{the Multi cymbals},they function very well as crash/rides and the bigger ones crank out some serious volume when needed...anyway,just thought I'd pass on some info for folks looking for higher quality cy...

Good video clips! Its always pretty cool watching anyone play cocktail kits live.I still wonder if anyone ever came across a clip of Steve playing last years Super Bowl.He did a great job on the kit on both recordings...good find Milwaukee!

1st drumkit
My first kit was a late 60's early 70's Slingerland bass and toms and a cheap cb percussion chrome snare. The hardware was real rickety from what I remember. The cymbals I clearly remember being older A Zildjians...one was a crash /ride ,they just had the stamp logo in them and at the time I had no id...

ditching the trad kit?
I can understand why you may want to play the cocktail kit exclusivly, probably convinience warrents it.I think the shift from trad kits to a cocktail does take some adjusting, and there are different sounds and techniques you apply differently when switching over. The cool thing is that you can go bac...

paiste 802 cymbals
I had a 18" crash/ride a few years back,it would work really well in a cocktail drum set up.The hats are probably good too, considering the 502's are really nice and they are a step down from the 802 series. If you go tho Paiste.com ,they have alot of sound samples{like most major brands},which m...
