Re: Reversed pedal

I like modding hardware. I think it would be worthwhile to craft a beater rod that was bent back in a cocktail-ready fashion. Then you wouldn't have to take the pedal apart to realign the cam - you'd just swap out the beater. The trick would be getting the bend in the rod just right. The rod might a...

Re: Cocktail- Manhattan Peace kit.

$500 used would still be a bit high, unless it came with some decent cymbals and pedal. But it looks like a nice kit anyway.

Really creative work! I wouldn't consider this "cocktail" per se but it is a good way to compact a standard drum set. Any sound samples?

Instead of getting a smaller version of a conventional drumset (what's the use of getting a drumset if I already HAVE a drumset?), I took the plunge and got a cocktail kit fro...

It sounds like these Chinese birch shells may be the same ones HB Drums uses. HB gets the raw shells and finishes assembly in the US. I am frankly surprised to hear of birch shells on such inexpensive kits.

Getting my cocktail set soon - really excited!

I've wanted a cocktail set for several years. At first, I was planning for a custom-made stave set, but the economy has forced me to scale back. So I'm going with HB drums, the black metal flake wrap at http://www.hbdrums.com/product/HBDBRETRO67B/HB-Drums-Cocktail-Drums-Free-Custom-Gig-Bags-Free-Shi...
