Re: my mini drum project!

Hi Peter,

More cool stuff. You never run out of ideas! I'm glad you gig with these little kits too.

My own custom build is almost finished. I'm just waiting to update a few pieces of the hardware with some new stuff that came out this year. I hope to have some pictures posted in May.

Re: Still enjoying a Cocktail now and then

Hi PrivateIdaho, Nice picture of your kit. I wouldn't have know that you rewrapped a Pearl Firecracker to match your kit. Great idea. It's good that you were able to change the lugs to match as well. I'm in the final stages of my own custom cocktail build (using all Pearl shells and parts) and am ho...

Re: My UltraPhonic Cocktail drum

Hi Boobus, I hadn't seen this thread before but I like your Cocktail build. Everything looks nice and compact and sturdy. However, I couldn't tell from the photos whether or not the BETA mic was mounted inside or outside of the shell. I'm finishing up my first build this month and am hoping to final...

Re: Billy Blast's latest Cocktail Kit.

Hi, I'm in the process of a unique cocktail kit build and I was debating whether or not to use single or double-head toms. I ended up deciding to use double-headed toms because I think the tuning sounds better and it looks classier. However, I can understand that those 2 single-headed toms on the Bl...

Hi,

That thing looks awesome! Maybe you could call it a "Cocktail Percussion Kit" or something like that.

Re: Billy Blast's latest Cocktail Kit.

Hi,

Cool wrap. I don't mean to be "critical", but I wonder how anyone could reach those toms while standing 2 1/2 feet away from them and reaching over the hi hat cymbals. Also, I wonder why the customer wanted those big lugs that don't enable the toms to have bottom heads.

Looks great! I've been tempted to set mine up with some extra stands, but I'm still attaching everything to the main drum.

Re: back after a two year absence

Hi Robert, Glad that you are still keeping this forum going (even with limited traffic). I still play my cocktail drums a few times a year (especially at church gigs). I think it's just that so few people have seen them (and so few drummers have played them). I find that people love cocktail kits wh...
