Re: Need crash/ride, mini-hihat ideas

I am a complete Dream cymbal convert. I cannot tell you how much I like these plates. I'm using 12" Bliss hats, 20" Bliss ride, 12" Contact splash, 18" Bliss crash/ride, and soon will be adding a 14" Bliss crash. Yes, they all fit nicely on my kit. Currently undergoing mods...

Re: Kick side - wrong problem, right fix (now)

Hi Baker, Great news! I'm still tweaking my cocktail kit after 5 years ... I know how it feels. On my kit, the toms are mounted above the cocktail drum (which is a real verticle kick drum with hoops on both ends - so it doesn't function as a floor tom). I always had a problem with the resonance of m...

Re: Fund raiser for Denis Stauffer's family

Hi Jim,

Thanks for posting a photo of the C&C cocktail kit. The finish is beautiful. I hope it went to a good owner.

Re: Fund raiser for Denis Stauffer's family

Hi,

I wish they'd put up some pictures of the C&C cocktail kit that is being offered. I've been checking the site for the past month and it has not been updated.

Re: Need crash/ride, mini-hihat ideas

You're welcome. It's too bad there's no purpose made dwarf ride 16 inches and under. I urge you to play any cymbal before you buy it for this purpose. Most crashes are just too light and lack the definition and overtones to make a good dwarf ride. Hi, Another consideration are the 17" ride cym...

Re: Billy Blast Taxi Cab Cocktail + Mini Set

Whoa, what a pimp set! Themes and motifs generally look good on a cocktail set. Check out my Tiki Kit here. Never seen concert toms on a cocktail kit and the rail mount is unusual. Very outstanding kit all the way around. Hi, I like the "taxi cab" concept of the finish, but I think it wou...

Re: Metropolitian Cocktail Kit

Hi Steve,

Maybe just remove the 6" tom and put the 8" tom in front of the snare. The ride cymbal could be moved over to the right of the hi-hat (for balance). Would the 6" tom be reachable if it were all the way in the front of the kit?

Re: Metropolitian Cocktail Kit

HI,

I always admired Metoropolitan for trying to create cocktail kits with more tom toms. However, I'd have trouble playing the floor tom in between the two smaller toms.

Hi Jottesen,

Wow! Thanks for all the photos. That helps me put the whole kit into perspective. I also see that you are sitting when you play.

I hope to get some pictures of my own cocktail kit up soon.

Hi Jottesen,

I like what you're doing! I wish I could see more of your cocktail kit.

What are all the specs? It looks like you have 2 sets of mini hi-hats too. Is that right?
