Yes, with the bent beater shaft, I believe I'll lower the tom a bit. That's good for other reasons too. Especially for the stand-up configuration with the snare on top, keeps the whole thing at a better height I expect, once I get the snare mounted that is. Though I am pretty happy sitting down so I...

Re: bass pedal
Maybe you can use a piece of inexpensive metal rod the same diameter as your beater shaft and tape a small rubber ball to the end, you are just trying to get the proper location placement. Then, after you have it the way you want, you can use that as a template for your beater shaft and hopefully n...

I have also been bugging my local shop about when theyr'e going to get more of the Z hybrids in, supposedly last week, but when I went to look, they had the whole cymbal wall down for repainting, so I'll have to ...

I will definitely keep you posted. My current focus is the remote hihat. Anyone have expereince with them? There only seem to be a few out there. There's a Pearl, a Tama, a Peace, and two DWs (9k and 5k). I have yet to find any others besides a cheapo no-name one on ebay. They're pretty pricey too s...

Mini kit under construction
Here's my mini-kit I started building a couple weeks ago. I had this 12x7 Black Panther cherry snare as an accent in my full kit, it's my favorite snare. Then I found this 16x16 Ludwig Accent CS Custom floor tom used in a local shop. It was in great condition in pretty much the perfect finish to mat...
