Now that it has been 24 hours I decided to take a picture. Nothing special, a professional probably could have done better, but hey, it cost nothing since I already had the glue. Well, I had some Elmers wood glue in the cabinet. I think I got her fixed. I filled the hole and the crack with glue and clamped it shut. I just removed the clamp, I forgot about it, been sittin' up about 5 hours. I will probably end up going with a clear top head just so I can keep a watch on it. R...

Thanks for the tip. I did try to search but I missed that thread I guess. I wonder if a couple Meinl HCS splashes would work? I got plenty of time on cymbals though. I can make use of the stock hats for now. Not the crash though. I just don't like the GP crash. I should probably just go try out cymb...

Cymbal/Hi Hat arms that come witht he cocktail kits...
Where can you get these? I noticed the GP and Trixon kits have what looks like the same cymbal arms. But I can't find them anywhere. Anyone have any idea? I was hoping to get another to pair with the one I already have.

Hi hat options?
Has anyone ever tried taking 2 splash cymbals and using for hi hats? I know on another site, someone used 2 12" wuhan splashs for hats on their groove percussion travel kit. I can't find that site or thread anymore. I originally found it when I did a yahoo search. I'm always trin' to find a way...

I definately want this to be as easy and clean as possible. Any certain type of wood glue? Elmers or Gorilla wood glue? You are right, the hole is about the size of a toothpick. Actually, maybe just a tad bit smaller. I thought the epoxy would be messy too as I have used it before. I would still nee...

Well good news so far. I talked to drum supply house and they said probably about a $25-$35 repair. To fill it in. But I won't know for sure until I take the shell to them. While I am there, I will probably see how much they will charge to wrap the drum for me. That way I know it's done right. So al...

Bearing edge messed up....
Well, I guess my luch has ran out. When I got home from work today, I started removing the hardware to clean and get ready for new wrap. When I removed the top head and rim I notices this... http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c40/SRT80/bearingedge.jpg There is a small pin size hole and a small crack ...

Kind of got lucky again today. I have been on a craigslist selling spree lately. Was in the attic seeing what else I could unload and I found a old pearl bass pedal. I forgot all about it. I think it came with a used rhythm traveler kit I bought awhile back. I got it reversed and it works great. All...

Well, I got lucky today...
A couple days ago I figured I'd post a wanted ad on craigslist for a used cocktail kit. Sure enough, last night I got a reply. I went and picked this kit up today for $120. Not a bad deal I don't think. I just need to get me a pedal. I will be using the snare and tom for my nephews little drum set I...

How important is the diameter?
I have decided I'm gonna go ahead with a full size cocktail drum. Original plan was a 16" floor tom. I want to make my own drum though. I see drumfoundry.com sales full 24" depth shells. I can get either a 15" diameter or 16". I noticed the GP and Trixon use 15" drums. But I...

Cool. Yea, I'm just waiting it out. Hoping I can find a nice 16x16 floor tom with a sparkle finish. If I can't. I will just plan on finding a floor tom and wrapping the drums myself. Drummaker.com is local to me so it's no problem to go pick out wrap. I just love sparkle. So, hoping I can find a flo...

My cocktail project
I have been wantin' to do a cocktail kit for a little while now. I decided against the cheap ones on ebay. Really, I'm not wanting the tall kick/tom combo. I want to do a 16x16 floor tom. I will still use it standing up, but will probably be too low to try and use as a tom for the top. But that's co...
