Slingerland No. 286 Kit For Sale

Post by jmettam »

Hey All,

I have decided to sell my Slingerland No. 286 Cocktial Kit and thought I would post it here before putting it on EBay.

These are getting harder and harder to come by so here's your chance! The kit is complete with:
  • * 16x16 bass drum (1x wood hoop, 1x metal hoop, + Deco handle)
    * 5x14 snare (with mounting bracket for post and cowbell)
    * Snare Basket that mounts onto the bass drum
    * 2 Bass pedals (1x Slingerland Tempo King 1x SpeedPedal)
(I never had the original pedal. The Speed Pedal is a little tight in places but could be fixed up!)

I paid $600 + shipping for it so that's what I am asking!

Let me know if you are interested. email me at: john at cocktail drum dot com

or post a message here!

Hi John. Just curious - did you ever use this setup ina performance? If so did it work OK?
I have a couple of extra drum pieces that I figured out could be set up just like this.
Thanks!

Hey Robert,

Yes, i definitely used it on couple of gigs! It is very cool! Like all Cocktail Drums, it has it's own character. It was strange for me to play such 'NORMAL' sounding drums after several years on my regular Cocktail Kit!

The sounds are nice and distinct like a regular kit. Of course the kick is not as big as a 22" but it has a cool sound. A lot of vintage collectors like these because it was one of the only factory made 16" kicks ever before the 1990s!
