Hello there,
I am a hard hitting rock drummer and am getting ready to do an acoustic duo at some local clubs. I originally was going to try and build a small custom set, but found the cocktail kits online, and they seem perfect. Right now I am looking at Metropolitan and Po Boy's. Does anyone have any insight on these companies? I definitely need something that is going to hold up. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

First Cocktail Purchase advice...
Sounds like you're a working musician. As such--and maybe those with more knowledge will chime in here--the two brands you've mentioned are both high-quality kits that should be able to take a beating.
My own limited experience with cocktail kits has led me to the realization that, a) there are not too many manufacturers out there, and 2) you get what you pay for. I, for instance bought a GP75 kit. Although it's fine for me--a weekend hack--a professional probably wouldn't be caught dead playing this kit without first having all the bearing edges re-worked and all the heads replaced, at a minimum.
Go for one of the "name brand" kits. Good luck!
