Tell me--what are you using for a throne? I've yet to find something suitable. Mostly everything seems too low.The throne I use
I have been using a old vintage bar stool with four legs and a rim that I can rest my left foot on occasionally. The kit I was using is a hipster 14, with the 10 ply shell. The bearing edge I have found works the best with the shells are 45 degree inward sloped.
I know pork pie has used this bearing edge, they flatten the first two pies, where I tend to keep the bearing edge knife sharp, then true the first ply. Sometimes it's a couple cuts to keep the shell level, then flattened on my granite sanding table. I also slightly round the transition from the cut to the shell proper. Really makes the head fit right over the slope of the bearing edge. ( As Keller shells are always a slight bit undersized)
