LP has samples on their site. Sounds pretty interesting.

$99 is a good price too for something small and unique to add.

thanks.
I really like that more and more vendors and manufactures have sound samples posted.
That snare sure sounds teeny. I like how the description implies you could use it in place of a 12 inch snare. Uh, don't think so.
The part before the snares are engaged sound like a cross between a bongo and a dumbek.
Who knows, i might get one.

Hey All,
Don't forget the Toca Jingle Snare!
<img src="http://www.tocapercussion.com/product/d ... _snare.jpg">
There is a sound sample on their page here as well:

Sounds much more like a snare and has the jingle sound as well!

Hmmm, here are my guesses but I don't have one so I cannot say for sure.zorf wrote: In the sound sample it sounds like the drummer is alternating the snare and jingle sounds.
How are the jingles activated?
And what do they mean by " rubber playing surface" and can this really be played by hand"?
The sound sample sounds to me like they are playing on the head for a snare sound without much jingle and then playing the rim to get the jingles really going.
Rubber playing surface? I believe someone just copied and pasted the description of the Jingle Hit tambourine:

Playing by hand I imagine means hitting the mounted tambourine with your hand although I believe this has mount to attach to a post. I believe the dual post mount is one of these:

So you have a post for the Jingle snare and a cowbell.
Anyone out there have one of these to tell us more??
Thanks!

I have used the LP snare pretty extensively on a bunch of different sets and it is a realy fun accent but I couldnt see using it for a main snare. The sound is like a small timbali with a super tight sounding snare that kind of reminds me of a marching snare only tiny. The sound on the site is the drum with the stock super thin head on it that most will replace making it harder and harder to get snare sound from. What I have found myself doing the most with it is placeing it over another snare close to the rim and rolling off of it to the main snare. It produces a realy cool effect with both the attack and the resonance to the top of the main snare drum. It almost sounds like a distortion/delay snare pedal hehe.
When you turn the snare off it just sounds like a small timbali and looses its charm all together for me at least. In that use I would perfer a DW mini tom or whatever they call it.
Overall its a fun accent but its kind of a 1 trick pony. If you love gadgets and noise makers you will love it.
One last note is this is super fun with a DW mini tom and another snare. You can do the above roll from the micro snare to the tom to the snare in one chop and its a realy realy unique sound that I love.
Sorry about the lack of spelling skills.
