Guitar and cocktaildrum duo. Have a look

Post by jottesen »

Hello every body

It have been a long time since I post something to the forum.

But now our little duo have started a youtube channel : http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbVotxf ... ature=mhee

Member of this duo is my old friend Pede Meyer who makes beautiful songs. He plays the western guitar and sing, I play the cocktaildrums.

I am very proud of this concept, I think there are a lot of music in this, even that we are only a duo.

I like to here what other cocktaildrummers/people think.

Some maybe think that this is not the real deal because i am sitting on a high drum throne, but in this concept I really need that hihat.

The first five years, I have that opinion that you could only play the cocktaildrums on your feet, but now my opinion have changes.

Why reduce you possibilities :?: :?:

I hope that you will find you way to our youtube channel: Meyer og Ottesen

We will upload more songs in the future. So please stay tuned

Thanks for your time.

Hi Jottesen,

I like what you're doing! I wish I could see more of your cocktail kit.

What are all the specs? It looks like you have 2 sets of mini hi-hats too. Is that right?

  Hi MM

My set up are:

Yamaha club Jordan cocktail set ( snr.,tom, main drum) and to the right side 10x6" Pearl popcorn snare.

On this setup I use (from left side) 8" hihat on hihat stand, 18" tosco pang cymbal, 10" closed hihat, 8" splash, 8-9" cymbal stack, cowbell, jam block, 16" crash w/riverts.

I have uploaded some pictures you can see here, not the actual set up but they will come.

https://www.dropbox.com/gallery/2447950 ... p?h=0d6cd2

On the pictures you can see my collection of drums for the cocktaildrum concept.

From the pictures you can see that I have pimp'ed ma set with Taye hardware I think its cool do you ??

The benefit from that is that every thing on the drum is tight and dont "swing" around.

I got the Taye hardware cheap so i think it is a good solution.

Tanks for your interrest and time.

Hello - I just came across this page and looked at your videos on Youtube. Nicely done! You both are good musicians and your playing as a duo fits together very well. Your songwriting is good too. I certainly would go to a club or restaurant to hear you play. As for sitting at your cocktail kit, I would think it gives you more control over your playing and that's always good.

Hi Jottesen,

Wow! Thanks for all the photos. That helps me put the whole kit into perspective. I also see that you are sitting when you play.

I hope to get some pictures of my own cocktail kit up soon.
