The first new, readily affordable cocktail kit in how many years?!? An essential addition to your site, I'd have thought.? I assume the brand name has been prostituted for slapping onto cheap imports (MusicYo do a whole range of Slingy-branded drums these days), but if it means a new addition to the 'cocktail cabinet', I reckon we can live with that.<br>

Also, do add Mick Fleetwood to your list of cocktail kit users - qv 'The Dance'.<br>

It looks GREAT - especially considering the price! I think I'm gonna have to ante-up my $345 and check one out...has anyone actually heard/seen one of these rigs "in the flesh" yet? If so, please post your thoughts...<br>

I guess I can only see two (minor) downsides to this product:<br>

1) The available finishes are a bit too "modern" for my personal taste - what can I say, I'm a BDP man at heart...Oh well, I guess I'll be seeing Gary @ Precision Drum for a re-wrap job...<br>

Well, elitist, or not, here is my two cents.<br>

The tom/bass drum is a 16" x 16" floor tom, according to the tech specs at MusicYo.com. This would mean that this set-up would be somewhat hard to play standing up. Since it is shown with a hi-hat stand, I am going to assume it is designed to be played sitting down. <br>
<br>
It looks likes a fun little kit, but I think one of Phattie's Coffee House drums would be a better choice, or maybe Yamaha's Hipgig, if you were going for a 'sit-down' set that is small.<br>
<br>
Nevertheless, I would like to see one in the flesh.<br>

It is certainly the most affordable NEW full range kit out there. I have several reservations about the quality of the shells AND the hardware from the last time I saw new Slingerland stuff. So let us know! Is a good kit to get?<br>

I just bought the Expresso kit from MusicYo.com, and have really been enjoying it. I'm actually a jazz pianist, and not a drummer, so my frame of reference is not too educated. I bought the set to use as a jam session set in a small studio area in my basement. It is very compact and has a big sound for its size. It is really fun to play, and the drummers I play with seem to enjoy it. I've also been wondering if I should muffle the kick head to give it a more bass-drum like sound, but I don't know if that would interfere with the floor-tom sound. Any ideas?
