Gettin' everything ready for the new cocktail kit. Gonna be a simple setup with different options.
The main drum is gonna be 14"x24" 6 ply maple shell. Not really gonna hang much on this but still gonna do 4 legs for extra stability.
For cymbals, think I will go with a standard cocktail cymbal arm from HB drums. Will have 10" hats on the top and a 14" or 15" crash/ride cymbal under it.
Next to it, might add a cowbell or wood block.
The snare (which is bein' built as we speak) is a raw shell from DW. It's 14"x4". Will be a little under 4" after edges/beds are done. Will have 10 lugs, triple flanged hoops, all chrome hardware. Gonna be a sweet piccolo snare. This is gonna be on it's on stand not mounted to the drum.
I'm also having a 12"x4" 6 ply snare built (to match) that will hang on the main cocktail drum for gigs when I don't feel like bringin' out the 14" snare.
The wrap is gonna be white marine pearl from drummaker.com here in Nashville. Billy Baker of Baker Drums is doin' all the work.
Will post pics as things get done.
