Wondering how much sound difference in a 14"x24" vs. 16"x24"? Reason I ask is, the cocktail drum is gonna be paired up with a 14" piccolo snare. Mainly brush playin' or rod sticks. And in some occasions, a 12" piccolo snare.
The gig is gonna be kind of a jazzy/R&B type thing. I already have the 14"x24" drum but kind of second guessing if I should had went the extra on the 16" drum.
Thoughts?

How much sound difference between 14" vs. 16"
Re: How much sound difference between 14" vs. 16"
Hey Steve,
You will be fine.
I've had 14, 15, and 16 inch main drums, and they were all good.
So many variables: heads, tunings, shells, beaters.
Once you dial it in, it will be great.

Yea, I think so too. I do think I'm gonna do a 10" snare to hang on the main drum for when I don't want to bring the 14" snare. I'm afraid that even with the 4 legs, a 12" snare might be too big and heavy to hang on a 6 ply 14" drum.
Somethin' I will think about.
