Twin pedals?

Post by Roadhog »

I've seen some discussion about using a remote hi-hat with a cocktail drum, but have any of you tried using a twin-beater foot pedal? The mechanics seem simple enough but the balancing act to play both pedals might be downright frightening.....

It could be done by being played flat footed I'm sure. Again practice and peddle position would have to be experimented with. Let us know how it works out.

What about using a dualist or Vruk type pedal that lets you play double bass with one pedal?

I know someone on the list does a double pedal...I forget who.

It's crazy how people are really expanding what cocktail sets are about. I can't decide if I'm a purist who wants to keep it minimal, or if I'm going to add electronics and go into a new frontier. I'm kind of thinking of adding a timpani for my new band--I guess in that respect, the benefit of the cocktail set is that it would give me room to bring along a timpani.

I'm also kind of thinking of occasionally using my cocktail set as a conventional bass drum. Maybe not.
