double kick

Post by palacki808 »

I was messing around with a broken pacific double pedal last night. I have been putting off fixing it for some time now. Considering I already have a nice dw double pedal though, it just hasn't been at the top of my list.

Anyway I ended up going to the hardware store to find some new nuts and bolts and I had the pedal almost back together and I thought, what if I reversed it. So I pulled the axle out and flipped those cams around. It works really well, but I had to use a barstool to sit down. I don't have the balance to play both feet standing.

If anyone else has an older model pacific pedal and wants to try this, just take off the nut on one side and tap the other end gently with a mallet. Flip the cams around and before you put eveyrthing back together make sure you grease it. You don't want to wear down the moving parts. If you need to clean any parts some wd 40 or gasoline will do nicely, just be careful.
