hello all, just discovered this site and I am pleased to see so much interest in what I assumed to be a dead and solo venture. I recently aquired an old Slingerland 286 set ( its just like the one in the slingerland "models" section, the two piece one with the big handle atop the bass) It's in great condition but is missing the 16" wood hoop, any one else out there who might know where to find one or any other owners who might be able to provide a picture or more info I would love to hear from you.Thanks alot, mark.

Nice find on the 286, they are not so common. I am lucky enough to have one myself so, feel free to ask questions. There are several drum makers and parts suppliers through which you should be able to get a 16" wooden hoop if you are interested in restoring it to it's original form.
