short update

Hi John and HI ALL

Weelll, the bass player was pregnate and suddenly the 24" asba
metallochrome kit was way too loud.
First we tried the old bongos but It was too low, then we tried
the Old 32 " waste bucket with a bike pedal strap round Your right foot.
You know up for more
That was better, actually it was good but I needed larger sticks, but in the
perc shop there was a Yama Jordan kit. That was a stick in the wheel..
Only the 8" snare and the somewhat light concept left me dreaming.
Then suddenly I ended up here. On the cocktaildrum.com.
I was here for days wiyhout end, Like being
15 yrs old again but it was real.
I then butchered my old 16 sling tom and glued it together with an old Pearl tom
and lo and behold A 16 26 was born. The rest I stole from this site so I want to
thank You all.
Now we re using it allthe time and allthough I play a little better sitting down nobody
seems to care but me. And being up front
all the hungry girls eyes down my shirt I can deal with the " real drummers"
being oh so right bout this and that.
I wanna give a great big shout out to John Mettam and everyone else who have
helped make this site what it is.
Keep rocking ( or whatever You think You do)
Love Jakob

See, I knew there was a good reason to play the Cocktail Drum!

Thanks for all the kind words Jakob.

I know what you mean about feeling like you're 15 again! It's amazing how excited I can get when someone comes out with a new product (small, mountable) that is well suited for the Cocktail Drum, or when someone here on the forum starts getting 'creative'. These drums are just so fun.

The whole reason I started this site was to find out more about cocktail drums for myslef by attracting other fans to share their knowledge. Thanks to everyone helping out, we have a good little collection of information going to help anyone who wants to learn more. It's been great getting to know so many interesting people who are passionate about these wierd instruments!

As always, thanks to eveyone who shares their passion and knowledge with all of us. It's what makes the site work!

John
