My 'heavy metal 'cocktail kit

Post by Captain Nemo »

Once I saw that Slingerland has a regular kick for their new 'cocktail' outfit, I felt I could go ahead and do the same. You'll see when I put up the pics, but my set is tuned like a studio rock kit. All Stagg cymbals which I swear by. Surprisingly, my little Peter Erskine picolino actually sounds like a normal wood snare. And, I use a 22" kick, so if you closed your eyes, you'd think it was a big rock set. The Staggs have a huge sound with little effort. I really like my stacked double hat. With the 14" hats, there is also a full sound there. Yet the whole thing is pretty compact. My vinyl-covered toms are the bomb.

Standing is definitely where it's at. Opens up a whole new world. You know, i was watching the band 'Dream Theater' on HD TV last night, and that awesome drummer likes to stand up a lot I noticed.
David St. Hubbins: It's such a fine line between stupid, and clever.
