Toca Timbales with Cocktail Snare

Post by jmettam »

Has anyone seen these? They make a 6" and 8" model. They look pretty cool!

They do look cool. Would work great on a Cocktail Kit as added sound. Doubt that it would work as main snare, but, hey, stranger things have been used.

I'll bet they would sound good as a 'processed' snare sound for techo/drum and bass stuff.

Hey John
Where can we get these? As I've mentioned before, I use a small tambourim mounted from my side snare for some quasi timbale figures. This thingy looks cool though.

Toca Timbale

Post by jmettam »

Hey Multiperc,

I have been trying to get to the Musician's Friend website but it is down tight now. I am guessing that we can get them there.

I already use a Toca 10" timbale with my kit at times. It has a nice TImbale sound, a little sproingy compared to a real timbale but not bad. I also sometimes I put on a heavier head and use it as a tom.

Those TOCA timbales are so cool and now the snare ones too. I've always wanted some, but just wouldn't turn loose of the bucks.
