I absolutely LOVE your site John. I have been watching it grow ever since I found it about a year ago. I like the new format too. Anyway on to my "angst-ridden" questions/comments. I have a really nice thirties/forties Walberg and Auge cocktail drum(14x21). I found it in a pawn shop, get this, as the floor tom to a complete four piece kit(22,13,14, 14 snare). It's great because I can play the rest of the kit on big gigs and just the cocktail on the smaller venues. It's got the old gretsch broadkaster"rocket" lugs and die cast straight hoops. I use the Aquarian modern vintage medium heads and they work great(especially because the shell is a little larger than average). My main problem is that I can't find a pedal bracket for it and have tried to make one unsuccessfully. The newer versions don't work and neither do the vintage models. The reason they don't work is because my little beauty has FOUR legs. I'm not sure why, it's only a 14 and is shorter than most cocktails. But, alas it has four straight legs. If anyone out there can give me a little advice on the matter I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for a great site and keep up the good work.
Hey Joe,

Thanks for all the kind words. How to make a pedal bracket? This is a common question! It can be complicated to make one that is twisted and with adjustable width clamps.

A simple and clever idea is shown in the picture below. It may not be the sturdiest solution but it sure is easy to do! Take a stip of metal, cut it to length, drill a dole in each side for the legs to fit through! Done. You may need to add some thickness to section where the pedal clamps on! You can also buy cowbell clamps that are c-shaped with holes for a rod to pass through and a wing nut for tightening. If you add a piece of metal channel over the edge of the metal strip (underneath where the wing nut tightens) it should lock securely.

Anyone out there willing to make custom sized cocktail pedal brackets??

Let's here what others have done!
