new "kick-Conga" project.
new "kick-Conga" project.
After playing my "coffee house"drum for few weeks! find that I need to build a new "Kick-Conga" for myself.So I order the 10" Remo Conga head and make a new frame(like LP compact conga concept)using bolt & nuts.The top part can remove (just by remove 4 nuts!0and become a "compact-Conga"(need to attached to a snare drum stand)I'm using 10" drum-head as "kick-drum".The whole drum is about 29" tall.as for the playing position,I need to position myself around 8 o'clock's position(which I find very comfortable for me!!)I will using it for next month's gigs!
Bought a Cabasa and convert it to a "Foot-Cabasa" & "Foot-wood-block"!!!
The foot cabassa/wood block is sheer genius. Looks like it would be very easy to swap in cowbell or tambourine if desired. This might be tough playing with the bass pedal simultaneously while standing, but if seated on a high stool, I bet you could get all sorts of percussive accompaniment. Awesome!

[quote="zorf"]Thanks Peter,

Haha! Zorf!!! thanks alot! there's another one if you want to try!!! Get a second hand LP compact conga,get a old Snare drum & cut it.Get a old 14" or 16" floor tom.remove the top head and cover it with plywood(Top part) drill a hole & attached a Tom holder.Then attached the LP Conga/Snare drum stand(Top part)and attached them on the 14" or 16" kick drum. Note: You may need to shorten the lenght of the 14" or 16" inorder to play "sitting" position.otherwise that's I call "Coctail Conga drum"!!! hope this small little idea can help you on your "Conga drum" project!!!
