Well, that went pretty well.
Part two:
Photo 4 - This shows the snare drum attached to the kick drum by three threaded rods I made from 7/16 - 14 x 4 foot stuff I got at Ace Hardware. I used a hacksaw to cut them up and tried to paint them to match the kit, without much luck. I made one much longer to hold my tom as you'll see later. I mounted 5 Gibraltar floor tom leg clamps on the snare drum, although I'm only using 4 of them.
Photo 5 - This shows the hi hat and crash/ride cymbal arms. The hi hat arm is 5/16 inch welding rod, again from Ace Hardware. I bent it into a Z shape and had a 7/16 - 14 x 1 3/4 plated steel coupling nut welded on to the end. Then I can screw it onto the threaded rod on my left that's holding the snare drum to the kick drum. The crash/ride arm is 3/8 inch welding rod, also from Ace Hardware. It has a Gibraltar cymbal holder mounted on it and it also has a 7/16 - 14 x 1 3/4 plated steel coupling nut welded to the end so I can screw it onto the threaded rod on my right that's holding the snare drum to the kick drum. I like that I can break these cymbal arms down (unlike the long ones on the Peace Manhattan) so I can use a small bag for all my hardware.
Photo 6 - Here are the arms mounted on the drum.
One more part and I think I'm done.

Bruce,
The homemade cymbal arms look great. I wish I had the ability to do that kind of work.
