I scored another one folks

Post by ratatattat »

Hi everybody, I scored another 14"x24" vintage slingerland cocktail drum from e-bay again! This one looks to be original in dark blue glass glitter. I think(not sure) the hardware is nickel.
It has a badge with the serial # 111011. I'll post pics as soon as it arrives!
Oh joy!

Slingerland Cocktail

Post by jmettam »

Hey Congratulations!

Please give us pictures when you can. Nickle hardware sounds like a 50s drum possibly. My guess is mahagony 2 piece shell with a reinforcement ring...

Cool

it has a black and brass badge with a serial number. I have only seen the pics on e-bay (they were not very good) so i can only guess at this point. I won't recieve the drum until next week end . I'll post pics asap!

really really dark!

Hi everybody. I finally recieved the new (to me ) drum. It is really dark blue, it looks purple in a strong light! It has no center seam or ring, & no snare either. Looks like a factory muffler though. ??? well I gues they never did standardize anything with these cocktails?? Another project! Whoo Hoo. Image

Strange!

I have never seen one with just a muffler and no snare. Usually there are at least the holes from another muffler/snare contraption.

Nice lloking drum. Looks like it's in great shape!
