My Quick Mini set

Post by halfcocked »

While i'm waiting for my Billy Blast Cocktial drum to arrive I whipped up a mini set from one of my 7 old drumsets. I had an old Percussion Plus set that I took the wrap off and refinished the shells with stain and polyurethane.
I just took a piece of plywood thick enough for a reversed bass pedal to clamp on and drilled 2 holes where the floor tom legs noramlly go. I also put 6 rubber feet on the bottom of the board to keep it from sliding. It works great!
Clamped one of the toms with it's arm to a cymbal stand, snare and high hat. Great for cramped stages and my drummer liked the challange of a smaller set. No damage to existing set either!
I put some cotton balls in the floor tom to dampen it a bit. People in the bars freak out when they see this set. It's simple and It works! Fits in the boot of the car too!
Here's a mix photo of it.
