Microkit sort of

Post by robertm »

Here's a microkit I put together recently. An acquaintance took up guitar and got an old Sunn 200 watt guitar amp at a surplus sale. My cocktail kit wasn't loud enough to be heard at the volume he wanted. I scrounged parts from music stores and a pawnshop, and this s what came up. it sounds pretty good!! Bass drum-16 in. CB Drums shell w/ Evans hydraulic heads. The real surprise is the cymbal on the bass drum. It is courtesy of Matthew Medeiros. I bought it from him and it turned out to be a really nice K crash type - dark, and it cuts through the guitars instead of trying to go over their sound pitchwise. Works great, and thanks to Matthew.

:( What, no pics of your set! You should know better than that. I'm glad the cymbal worked out for ya. Post some pics when you get a chance
