Rogers Astoria Goes Parklane!

Post by tommykat1 »

I found the correct right angle Swivo arm, cymbal arm, extension arm and 12" tom tom to turn the Astoria outfit into a Parklane. Note that all I could find is a Dayton tom for now. I really need a Cleveland for this to be correct. The floor tom already had the 4th Swivo mount for the Parklane arrangement.

I Also substituted the longer 20" tom legs that are normally found on a 14" floor tom, and I've adjusted the drums about 1.5" higher. This allows me (at 6') to play standing or sitting without cramping.

Next, I'm thinking of adding lockable casters to the floor tom legs (and, of course, additional noisemakers!). I want this outfit to be as portable as possible. I have also obtained an over sized hand truck to move the set around larger spreads. I will be pushing it around multiple venues at a special gig coming up in a month or so.

One comment about the way Rogers designed drums: these shells and hardware are SOLID. There are no compromises; each drum is the real thing.
