interesting ghanian shaker

Hey guys,

Found a gem of a new toy that sort of goes along the lines of the "cocktail drum" ecclectic aesthetic... the kashaka. It's a shaker of sorts. Imagine two "egg" shakers except spherical, and tethered together. You hold one in your hand, and as you shake it you swing the other around you hand to collide with the one in your palm. Very visually arresting, and once you get two going (one pair in each hand) it's pretty crazy. I'm currently trying to use it in my right hand instead of the hi-hat while playing left hand snare etc. on my club jordan. Give me a few weeks, I'm sure I'll be rockin'.

I'd consider these instead of the typical shaker eggs... even if you don't get into the throwing and catching technique, you still get twice the sound as you have two shaker balls together!
