can this classify as a cocktail drum

Post by palacki808 »

This past weekend my band had a CD release gig. We did an acoustic set along with our normal routine. The acoustic set was in a separate area of the venue, not having a second cocktail drum to have setup ahead of time I tried playing with a standard bass drum, cymbal and snare on a concert stand while standing. Do you think I could call that a cocktail set or not?

My bandmates refered to it as the "hillbilly" cocktail set, but it seems a little odd to me to call it a cocktail set because I wasn't using both heads of a drum as batter heads.

It's all in how you look at it. A few companies made drums like this:

The only difference is that the snare mount is IN the bass drum!
