Hey Dinkus,

Great Idea!

A question, is the strainer soldered in place or just being held on by the bends of the muffler arm and the tension of the springs?

Also if you have a couple of higher resolution pictures, that would really help to see the detail.

Don't for get you can now upload pictures to the Cocktail Drum Lounge (look at the post at the top of this forum!)

Thanks!

- John

Hey John, no the strainer is not soldered, I did attempt but the chroming on the pieces wouldn't take. So I just taped it in place just after the bend. It's not going anywhere. The springs help keep it in place but the tape has to be there so it doesn't slide past and over during play. Works like a charm, with good control of adjustment. I will eventually swap out the string for a Trick wire. Less chance of breakage on the wear points inside. It's a real pain to have to pull the head when stuff goes wrong during a show. I will grab some pics for you.

Internal snare stainers

Post by matthew medeiros »

Has anyone here ever thought of using a Ludwig super sensative snare set up for a cocktail drum? It's got it's own throw off mechanism and sits under the top head. And for a while I had thought somebody was re - manufacturing the set up?? Maybe somebody here remembers. Just a thought, although that might be a bit of an expensive set up for Cocktailers
