What a crazy idea! I like that you could use it to shut off the snares instantly. My snares mount to an old Ludwig tone muffler, so to turn the snares off, I need to turn a knob like twenty times.

Why did you take the side board of your drum? Just because it's dorky and unnecessary? Sorry to all the Club Jordan fans. I've just never seen the point in it. If you have plastic wrapped drums and aren't a maniac, you can play cascara rhythms on the shell just fine without hurting the finish. Does the board sound better than the shell? I've always been curious if anyone feels the sound board on the side is worth the additional cost it adds to the drum. If Club Jordans weren't so expensive new, I probably would have bought one a few years ago. They look and sound beautiful. It's just weird to me that that sound board is standard equipment.

I took the board off so as to use the L bracket. I like using stuff already attached to the drums. I've custom made stuff but prefer prefabbed stuff and it works just right!!! Personally I don't use the board with my style of music so it's no loss to me. I've used it more as a handle to move the drum around which may not be wise but now I can place the floor tom on the right closer to the CLub Jordan. I will probably put wood hoops on the shell from Keller Shells as I like the sound and playability of them. This is the only wood i'd be banging on.

The Jordan kits are not plastic wrapped. They are lacquered. If you play cascara, the board will save your drum shell.
