Questions for Peter Lau

Post by jmettam »

Hi Peter,

As always, your new kit looks amazing!

I am curious how you have the snare set up inside the drum. It was not entirely clear from your description. Do you have any pictures of the snare with the head off? I'm sure everyone would like to see (and hear!) it.

Also, where do you get your shells made? I'm guessing it is through some local shop that would be inaccessible to the rest of us. Pretty exciting being able to get a 26x10 shell!

Thanks for all the hard work,

John

Post by PETER LAU »

Hi,John!
Thanks a lot for the complement!About the Snare thing,Ok,I will get a photo and post it later. The drum's shell. It's home make.I'm lucky to have a friend who is very good in wood work plus he own a workshop. There's always alot of plywood left over at the back of his work shop.We just choose few pieces that can be use, then started to make the drum shell.Infact,it's always easy to make bigger drum shell than smaller one.It tooks about almost 2 month just to complete the drum's shell.I won't says this is a easy job.It take a lot of hard works& passion.Infact,I wanted to thank You(John),and everyone who share their "Great Idea" in this web side.Whenever people(drummers)ask me about my COCKTAIL DRUM.I always mention your Name(John)and Your COCKTAIL LOUNGE.Because,if I don't discover your web side,I can't even dream of making/playing my own COCKTAIL DRUM!That's the greater and happier thing in my drum's life!As for the COCKTAIL DRUM building project.I think this will be my last & final one!(Which I always told my wife!hahaha!) : :D
Best Regard,
PETER
