The band Needle, who plays in this website's player, has a new album - actually an EP - out. It's called Saint Timothy's and uses a cocktail drum set. It's recorded very clearly and you can hear the cocktail drum very well. The music is Needle's style of slowcore, very nicely done.

New music w/ cocktail drum
Re: New music w/ cocktail drum
Hi,
They sound like the Cowboy Junkies ... but without the guitar parts.

Very similar, but I couldn't imagine the Cowboy Junkies without the guitars.

Hi Robert,
Yes, I'd love to play some Cowboy Junkies on my cocktail kit sometime with a live band. The simple and mezmorizing beats would be perfect. I play at a lot of churches but I end up having to do all kinds of stuff with the cocktail kit that is really meant for a standard set up.

Yes - I think that would sound entrancing. Simple beats and accompaniments are hard to do, but when they fit, come together so to speak, the music is on a level above the ordinary. The cocktail drum can make that a good possibility when you play it with a good group.
