Now that I am rid of my first cocktail drum, its time to build my second. I was looking over some wrap finishes that are just gorgeous, but I'm seriously considering just clear-coating the drum. Wood grain is a beautiful thing, I'm thinking maybe just a light stain and some acrylic dull coat should do the trick.

My second option is the snare. I have a nice "side snare" to use, but I'm still considering adding the internal stainer to the main drum. Because of the people here being kind enough to post the model number and where to get gibraltar's internal muffle I can easily make another internal stainer. That side snare is just so cool sounding I don't know if I would ever use the cocktail drum's top head for a snare sound, not to mention that would save me the time fro installing the baffle as well.

I didn't buy a shell for the tom yet, I think I may if I can get more of the same lugs when the thing is finished. This drum should be a club jordan "wanna be" when it's finished (except not nearly as expensive).

That ends my long winded post. maybe someday after this drum is complete I'll acctually start learning to play standing up like I can sitting down.
